take a bite | NEW YORK

North America, TRAVELS, Uncategorized

New York City baby! This never-sleeping metropolitan city is always pushing and creating; the birthplace to so many of the world’s latest trends, yet also has such a rich history. It is a perfect blend between the old and the new. If this town is just an apple, let us take a huge damn bite.

Taichung | TAIWAN

Asia, TRAVELS

Taichung is the nature side of the Taiwanese culture. Same genuinely friendly people, same amazing street food, minus the busy streets, plus the natural beauties of lakes and blue skies.

The train ride was just one hour. Immediately you can tell the difference between the restless city of Taipei and the more chilled suburban Taichung. The boba teas, the food stalls, the people are still about the same; with the background sans skyscrapers or wide bustling roads.

Best hidden cozy Cafés | HONG KONG

Asia, Cafés, EATS

Hidden in alleyways, tucked above >40yo buildings, you won’t be able to find these cozy little spots without a proper guide; but they are definitely worth visiting.

The latest trend might be vegan matcha donut with an ube glaze, or turmeric ice cream sprinkled with dehydrated kale chips, but this is what these places are about. They are here because they have their own characters.

Very much like the idea of sonder, which is the realization that everyone has a story, these cafés will show you that fashion fades, but style stays.

Kowloon Guide | HONG KONG

Asia, TRAVELS

Hong Kong consists of three main geographical regions: the cosmopolitan Hong Kong Island, the candid Kowloon, and the developed campos New Territories. There also are some outlying islands, such as Cheung Chau Island and Lamma Island.

I’ve always believed that the grittier a place, the more authentic the local culture you see is. Described as “the Mr. Hyde to Hong Kong Island’s genteel Dr. Jekyll” by CNN in their guide, Kowloon is Hong Kong; well at least the inner alter ego of it.

Dude, sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something -Jake the Dog

I feel like the biggest reason for my procrastination is my lack of confidence, that I suck and whatever I do is never good enough to be shared and shown. That is until I learned from the wise Jake the Dog from Adventure Time that hey, sucking at something is just the first step, and as long as you’re taking steps, you’re getting there.

And so it begins! My blog about travels, foods, shoots, tunes, handlettering and more! A bit of everything I love, a bite of everything in life. Follow me as I learn and grow and improve and hopefully inspire as well.
